Howdy everyone! Nimbus here for ManCat Monday. Mom had to get the flashy box out because the sunbeams decided to take the day off AGAIN. We all decided that it's a convenient excuse to sleep the day away, but well, as you can see, my nap got disturbed. But Mom insisted that I pose with Homie since she hasn't gotten a good pic of us. I say she has but she insists on it not being a blur. PFT! So I let her put it in front of me, but I didn't bother to give her the pic she really wanted. See what she gets!
A bear that size must die... and die a thousand deaths it has. I fear it still has thousands more lives to go. But I WILL kill it permanently someday, and if not me than my mama will.

Jadzia and the Reindeer
Nimbus and Reindeer
Nimbus behind Bastet on TV
Nimbus and mini-Garfield (how ironic, eh?)
Even got a kick or two in!
All these pics are old but poor Mr. Reindeer still gets his rear kicked now and then! Still can't find Homey pics!

Hip Hip Horray!
Hey everyone!
First of all, Happy Gobble Gobble er Thanksgiving Day!
Second, I got good news.
HOPEFULLY, by the end of next weekend, I should have a new pda! WooHoo! God knows I miss checking in on everyone before I get moving in the morning! Yes, I'm that addicted to this thing called the internet. ROFL... Even better, the money I spent goes to a good cause! I finally found something reasonably cheap that should work. Unfortunately, it doesn't have a CF Card slot (where I keep all my bulky stuff like music etc), but that's ok. I'll live - and hopefully it'll take a bigger card than the ones I got right now! I got a Dell Axim x3, which looks like my trusty Toshiba e355 that I've been using since my e800 is dead. I hope it fits in my wallets! Hahaha, yes, I have more than one!
I bought it off ebay, and the seller runs the Orphan Animal Rescue and Sanctuary! So I get to help out the cats AND hang out with my favorite cats on the blogosphere! My keyboard should still work, and with any luck, everything else too!
I'll let you know more when I know more!

Howdy Everyone!
Today is Turkey (Prep) Day around here. Mr. Cat started it, and got a lot done. He didn't ask me to do any of it, he said he'd finish later. But I figured I was just in from work, still on my feet and able to move, and so I should see what I could get done. Hahaha... I was only planning on about an hour, but 2 hours later, I'm just now sitting down after a long day at work (and a rough one too at that). Of course, part of any cleaning is the dreaded vacuuming, something I at least dread. But I figured what the heck, it's got to get done. Nimbus, as you can see, had the smart idea (up until the end): he stayed up off the floor where he knew the "noisy beast) couldn't get close to him. Curzon, on the other hand, just like his sister, tore off for the bedroom faster than human eyes can see! But who came first to the food bowl afterwards? The twins... Nimbus must've gotten comfy LOL.
So what's on everyone else's plans? Prep cooking? Relaxing? Or did you forget to get the turkey? :P
Happy Pig-Out-Like-You're-Famished-Day erp Thanksgiving folks!
(Nimbus: Oh Mom wanted me to say somethin' like WhoDey or something like that... I think it must be some sport thing because it's every week she's hollerin' it... Humans! It's just funner to chase for the heck of chasin'!)

Thanksgiving Tribute
I was inspired to tell you a story about a special cat named Snowflake by Brian that I had the pleasure of spending the last year or two of his life with. He was a special cat, one I may have told some of you about before.
Snowflake was special in many ways. Yes he was FIV+, which made him special needs, but that's another issue. He was a bad*** when he wanted to be, and at first, he HATED me. He'd bite and try to attack me at every chance he could. I was intruding. But soon we bonded, and before too long, the attacking was all in play! He lulled me to sleep more than once after my Mom had died. He was huge for a part-siamese cat. Everything you think of when it comes to siamese cats, he was not. He wasn't small, shorthaired, and noisy. He was HUGE (bigger than any of my coons now), long-haired, and quiet. I still miss that cat. He went to the hospital 9/11/01 (yes, THAT morning) and was helped to the bridge the following Monday.
While we're talking about special cats, let me introduce Ollie. Oliver, or Ollie as we called him, was a rescue that was brought to me while I was in Iowa (when the twins were just kittens) by a neighbor. Turns out the cat had lice (which I hadn't had in a very long time), but luckily my roommate knew a cheap way of killing them without all the chemicals! Good thing too 'cause I'm quite itchy as it is - easily tickled, even by my own hair! He vanished shortly after we went our separate ways, and by now he's surely dead. But he was one sweet kitten!
This is Shadow. She was a sweet cat and we think Nimbus' half-sister (same daddy). I see the resemblance! She was a very sweet cat that belonged to my roommate back in Iowa. She's the whole reason Nimbus exists! She and Jadzia bonded instantly and Jadzia followed her everywhere - including outside. Shadow knew where all the little holes were, but once Jadzia knew where she was she freaked. She hated outside (and still quite detests it), and it made for many, many long nights trying to get her to come to me so I could get her inside. Shortly after we went our separate ways, Shadow became sick and went to the bridge.
Angel was a very special cat of Mr. Cat's. Her, along with Obnoxio (or Nupsy, as he calls her) were sisters and I believe littermates. Angel died of old age a while back (she was like 21 or 22), a testament of how much Mr. Cat loves and takes care of his cats. She was quite the girl, and sweet as pumpkin pie!
And this cat, I saved for last for a reason. This was Mr. Cat's impossible kitty. This is Astro, a cat that found his way to Mr. Cat years and years ago, a stray cat that decided he was ready for a forever home and picked his own! He was quite the fighter and defender of his turf, but inside, he had to take second fiddle to the girls. Astro got a very mean case of Lukemia and while he fought it good and hard (even catching full-grown rabbits as he was struggling to live), they finally had to help him to the bridge. But still... the cat that was a stray lived well into his teens. I wish I could've known Mr. Cat's cats, but I know now for sure that there's plenty of love left in him, because he's shown that same love and dedication to his new feline family! There'll never be another Astro cat, but there never could be. I don't think there could ever be another face as sweet but mean at the same time!
So this Thanksgiving, it's not about mourning the ones who have found their way to the bridge ahead of us, but treasuring the memories they gave us. Mr. Cat has memories of piles of cicadas, I have memories of a cat being mistaken for a dog (yes, Snow was THAT big), and we have plenty of memories of a kitten trying to eat Ivory soap (Nimbus), a stray cat that looked dead-on like Nimbus back in Ohio (but SHE was a bit too funny to even be Nimbus LOL), and a lot of other cats that we've been introduced to that touched us in their own ways. This Thanksgiving I dedicate to the laughter of friends and furfriends that have come before us and the knowledge that the best days are yet to come.

Non-Pic update and a Warm Note
So where are we at... I haven't dropped any weight that's for sure... I think I'm getting fat ROFL j/k.
Ok, now that I have everyone laughing, on to the REAL blog post.
Everyone here is doing well. I haven't been able to get my hands on more flea medicine, but it's not for a lack of wanting to. But Jadzia's itching is now starting to slowly improve *knock on wood* hope it lasts. She hasn't been on the cortizone pills either, they're just too expensive and the last round just didn't seem to be working. It was discovered yesterday she's missing two of her tiny front teeth, though there's no signs of them falling out, she's not showing any signs of injury or anything like that, it's just like a ghost came in and made two vanish! It has to be semi-recent as I'd think the vet would've noticed when she saw the cat. Who knows... Nimbus is doing well as well. After that load of wet food they got, he did come up a bit, but because I gave him a shot RIGHT before he pigged out, it wasn't as bad as it could be, and honestly he had room to go up. I wouldn't have given him the wet food had he been on the high end of normal. Though next time he gets that low and stays low, I will probably do it again, but not because of Nimbus. The other two shouldn't have to totally do without because of him. However, I might have to teach Jadzia a lesson about being on my lap while I have my keyboard on my lap! Gargh! Curzon is doing good, as always. He's rarely a problem child. His medical issues are always minor (except for that damn ringworm he got a few years back, THAT was a pain in the arse - well an itch on his ear and my belly). The fur oil and matting was the worst that's happened to Curzon since the ringworm, and honestly that's the only serious thing that's ever happened to Curry. He's a tough cat with a sensitive belly, but nothing gets to him. Even when we had the flea infestation before we moved up here, Curzon was the least affected one. Don't ask why. Maybe it's part of his alpha-ness rofl. He's too busy protecting the house to get sick in his mind for sure. He's usually right up with me if I'm not feeling good unless his sister beats him to it. They know purrs make humans feel better, because it helps us relax. Speaking of that matting incident... The fur is growing back nicely (nicer than Jadzia's being right now, bathing on my arms while I'm trying to type), to the point the whiteness is almost completely covered up. Nimbus' is unnoticeable now except on his haunches, as one side is longer than the other, but heck, that might be a new BooLook! I might just have the vet trim his fur down there next time! Hahaha, just kidding, Boo!
I've really enjoyed meeting all you new cat bloggers lately, but please to you non-cat-bloggers, I haven't forgotten about you. Jip, Enola, Andrew, Soul, Walter, Cheryl, and the rest of you, I'm still reading. Oh and Cheryl (I think it was you), if you think that's bad getting 175 posts behind, lol, I can beat you easy! But we won't go there. My point is, if I've marked you as "following", I am. That's not just a hat-tip. I'm keeping up, even if I'm not leaving a note to tell you I was there. Some of you (*cough* Walter... lol) haven't been as gabby as normal either. *Pat pat* it's ok I forgive you. So just know I'm thinking of all of you during this holiday week, even though I ain't the celbratin' type. I might not do the upcoming holidays (especially my bday), but those of you who've known me longer understand why. I ain't got a problem at all with thankin' all of you for making me laugh and keeping this ol' blogosphere moving. So thanks to every last one of you, and hope you have a great Turkey Day. Yes, I'm working as always, but I'll be home before the bird's even done cooking.
And hey, you ****amn Bengals, wth happened? Get yer heads out of yer ****amn **s! You've gotta deal with Mr. Favre in a couple weeks, you ain't got time to get yer panties up yer rears! Get yer **it together and get back to work! It was the RAIDERS for pete's sake! Don't you dare do this to me next week... I might have to scream (oh wait, I just did, didn't I)! I wanna scream WhoDey the rest of the season! Give me a reason!

Football and Fur
I'm sitting at home because my football game is on late today and wouldn't you know, I'm out of the Cincinnati region, so I'm stuck watching a Jets game I really don't care about instead of my beloved Bengals. But I did get to watch another very important game. I never thought I'd be rooting for Kansas City, but today I needed them to pull off an upset. You see they were playing my arch-nemesis, the Steelers, who are in 2nd place in the division. A loss today for them and a Bengals win will only cement our playoff chances. Well, it came down to OT, but KC did it! Now the Bengals have to do their part and keep winning, and considering they're playing Oakland, who's had their own share of troubles and struggles this year, shouldn't be too difficult. But we said that against Cleveland a few weeks back (who we also play next week) and it took all the Bengals could muster up to win that one. So right now I'm not calling any game - as much as I want to!
As for the non-football stuff, this is what we've been up to today: lounging like the lazy cats we are on Sunday! I upset my tummy today somehow but I got over that. I probably just ate too much. Either way, I got to stop it! LOL
I'm happy to see my boys hanging out together, though they're rarely spending an entire day together. But today they've been hogging the couch. I'm so happy to see it though. Curzon's been getting a little TOO happy with the paw-dancing (or as some call it, kneading) lately. Aren't boys supposed to lose those hormones when they get snipped? Oh he lost most of 'em, but not all of 'em. But hey, he's not a sprayer, so I'm happy.
I hope everyone has had a relaxing weekend and I look forward to another post later *knock on wood* hehe.

Gargh
PDA is completely dead now, and until the money genie comes and visits, it will be a long while before we find our way again. So the only blogging we will get to do is from the desktop, which means it may take a while longer to approve your comments. But maybe that'll actually make me post more pics? Who knows... I apologize in advance if I vanish for an extended period of time, but neither of the other older pdas will take the wifi card, so we're plum out of luck on the blogging end. At least one of them lets me play my games 'n stuff!
Think it's time for me to switch PDA brands. Toshiba's been too much of a headache.

Finally Friday - for us
Hello friends!
Sorry for the absence lately, I've been quite busy - sleeping! I slept like a log last night and couldn't be awoken for anyone. Apparently Mr. Cat tried - and didn't succeed. LOL I guess I really did need the rest, right?
Well Mr. Sunshine is out today - barely. There's a lot of thin clouds he's got to get through, so the beams are a bit weak, but they're just strong enough for some pictures - and a couple videos! Here, I'm trying to get Curzon to demonstrate his famous snorkel. It took a lot of affection and him getting up (lazybutt LOL) to make it happen, but I got a weak snorkel from him. The camera even picked up a little of his purring. Needless to say, fast forward a bit if ya just wanna see/hear the snorkel!
Then, we decided to have a little photo shoot, nothing exciting though. Well, except Jadzia demonstrating what we call the chicken leg position (yes, she does yoga LOL).
By this time, Nimbus was starting to look like he wanted to play, so I thought I'd see if I could catch that on video. Well, I was half right. A kitty did want to play, but it wasn't so much Nimbus - at first! This is the famous whip toy as we call it. Mr. Cat bought this before we became a family years and years ago. It's one of the cheapest toys we ever bought, and it's one of their favorites. It's a couple inches shorter because Curzon chewed it up when he was younger, but it still works. We have to hide it many a time because he'll drag it around and whine and yap so loud the whole world probably hears - but at midnight, I really don't wanna hear it! Nimbus loves it too, as it was his first toy and the reason why he's so agile on his feet. He was still a blind baby when it was bought, so it's all he really cares about most of the time. Shoelaces don't usually work as well for him. Hopefully someday though I'll catch him throwing poor Homie around (Homie Bear is a little stuffed bear that was intended for a human but Nimbus decided it was his instead). You guys will love that - the bear is huge - big as a rat! Not as heavy though, but for a cat, it's pretty heavy - yet I've seen him throw it behind himself, across the room, you name it, it gets flung, and not by paws, by his mouth!
So this is what we did today after I got home from work. Perhaps there's more to come, we'll see. Right now I got a JazzyCat on my lap getting herself ready for a hot date (with sleep lol).

No Pic Post
Hey folks. I won't be posting today as I made the silly mistake of watching some funny classic cartoons I hadn't seen since I was a child after eating an after-work snack - oofah too much belly laughing! So between the tummy being sore and Jadzia being a little cling-on (literally), I think it's best that we just kick back in bed and relax. Heck, I've somehow lost at least 2 hours in front of this computer and accomplished nothing except a big trip down memory lane. Remember all those classic looney tunes, tom and jerry, etc cartoons? Well that's what I was laughing at. They even had woody woodpecker. ToonJet I think was the name of it. I still have it in google reader for when I need it again. Nice to be able to save rss feeds esp when it's a good one. So I am off, maybe I'll get a full night's sleep tonight - haha that'll be the day - but maybe we'll have a post tomorrow, when Mr. Sun comes back!

(Nearly) Wordless Wednesday Archive

I know what I said...
I did Nimbus' test at just before 4pm, and he's a wee too low to get a shot - not dangerously low, but low enough that if I gave him a shot, he might go down too far. Well, about an hour later I discovered something I didn't know we still had - their precious canned food! Their favorite too, not the expensive gravy-less prescription stuff. I know the worst of the worst is in that gravy, but they love it. So I gave Boo his shot, and then proceeded to give them a couple cans. Usually I put it out in two or three little plates or bowls, but this time I had a plate out and decided just to use that instead. I caught it on video, though I apologize for the darkness, but it's the best I could do and it took 3 lights just to get it that bright! You can hear me sigh too when I miss that last lid in the trash. Hey 3 for 4 ain't bad! Funnier yet, you can hear Nimbus and Curzon's talking, and I think Jazzy let out a squeak too! Most of that gabbing is Nimbus though.

Quick Post
Hey folks. This is just a quick note to say there probably won't be a tummy pic today unless I get the energy to get on the desktop and search the archives for one. I am wore out, thank the job for that. I have no energy to speak of, and will be spending the afternoon in bed except for giving Nimbus his shot and getting me some food. I'm sure the cats will enjoy that but there are things I wanted to do today after work. That's not happening I can tell you that. This body needs to rest. I, like at least a couple of you, spent Sunday watching football, and I got way too excited over the win. I made the mistake of sleeping too long that night though and so that screwed up my sleeping last night. So needless to say running like crazy on an incomplete night's sleep is even harder. With any luck, though, I'll catch up tonight. I need it badly. Oofah. I hope all of you had a great weekend and I'll hopefully see you Wednesday. I will be dipping into the archives for Wordless Wednesday, but I do think you'll understand why. I've been wanting to post this pic for a while and just haven't gotten around to it. Be well everyone.

ManCat Monday
We had another photo shoot last night, this one of course required the flash, but the cats tolerated it this time.
Before we start with ManCat Monday however, I want to show you this picture I took last night of Jadzia. I have no idea how she got herself like this. I was in a hurry to snap the shot as there was someone at the door (it ended up being Mr. Cat and our best bud), so I was trying to get a couple quick shots off on the way to the door. Once again, got a Curry in the box but so blurry it isn't worth posting. But figure THIS pic out!
And heck, while we're at it, how about a sleeping Jaz looking NORMAL lol. Consider this an early Toes Tuesday.
Now on to ManCat Monday. Curzon first...
And now for Prince Nimbus...
So I think we got ManCat Monday and the toes half of Toes and Tummy Tuesday done... Let's see if I can get the tummy half by tonight for tomorrow afternoon's post. Not like they're liable to cooperate. HAHA! Yeah, right.

Football and Cats
Ok, first of all, WHO DEY BABY! We beat them ugly Steelers once again! Good game though. But dang this feels so good. Sorry guys, there's always next year though. It's the year of the Cat!
Ok, on to the rest of the post. And sorry in advance for so many pictures today. I guess I'm making up for the non-pic days unintentionally.
We had a photo shoot this morning - of course the sun broke through the clouds completely AFTER we were done. But it's ok. We had a good photo shoot.
A few minutes later, I got the crazy idea of trying to get some carrier shots like the ones I took a few years back.
Curzon was first. He didn't go willingly but he didn't put up that bad of a fight either, but that's normal.
Curzon got out and Nimbus was closest, so Nimbus was next. Usually when he gets "crated" the carrier gets undone, then put together again over him because he's such a strong fighter. But I wasn't going to that degree. But he put up one hell of a fight, and after 5 minutes of trying and trying, he finally went in - ass first!
As you can see, both twins came to investigate, Queen Jaz first, then King Cur. Well, I decided to let the boy out as he was doing his darnedest to get out, and I was afraid he was gonna injure himself or break the new carrier, and trust me he was out like a rocket. That one pic above is the only one that came out clearly. He ran for the bathroom, where he stayed until he saw I wasn't coming after him and then he came out but he kept his distance from me. I do have a tendency to pull multiple sweeps on the same cat, so he knows better. But I wasn't up for wrestling a second time either.
Jadzia was next, and she'd half-walked in by herself, but she thought about getting out. I gave her a little nudge and she went in and laid down. This really needs to be her carrier, not so much because it fits her best, but because if Nimbus isn't hogging the big carrier, Curzon is. She needs her own safe spot, just like every Queenie!

I tried to get a picture of one of the boys in the box, but it didn't work. It's not so much that it's up on the side, it's that they really didn't feel like being photographed yet, and I was an intruder!

So anyways, that's what we did this morning. We sat up all morning, took some pictures, the twins and I got some snuggle time in (they even held each other - I wish I could've gotten a pic of that), and Nimbus got to gabbing as he brought in their favorite toy while I had the twins with me still. We're all happy that our Cats won, so we're going to kick back and enjoy this feeling. The other beans are still out savoring the victory, but that's quite alright. I was ready to leave, but not until the game was over. I hope everyone had a good weekend and I'll see ya'll the next time around. Hopefully I won't make you wait so long for the next round of pics!
