So what else is going on... Not too much. Brofur still misses the Boy tremendously and makes sure everyone else hears about it at night, but when TSB calls, he comes. We've been making sure no introoder comes near our hoomins. She gave us stinky goodness a couple days ago but it wasn't nearly enough! But Mr. Cat made a pot roast and he made sure we got some of the meat, so it's all good! It seems like every one he makes is even better than the last but they're always so good! TSB says she might make another meatloaf before long so maybe if we team up we can con - er ask - her for some of that too!

A note from @hemmingwayscat - she is so thankful for every penny you guys have donated and apologizes for not being around much. But between all the stuff she has to do for the shelter and looking for housing for her whole family, it's just hard. We will keep you posted though! As soon as she gives our hoomin the good news we'll be sure to pass it along!

So that's all that's going on around here, same old boring us. There are probably a few pics on the camera that TSB is too lazy to get up to get but we'll save them for another post. Meanwhile we have to get TSB to quit making her phone act funky! MOL 3rd one this year... we understood dumping the one.... it's reception was pathetic. But TSB, come on... two in like 4 months? We need someone to blame so we just gonna lay on her phone so she cant use it!

A Hemmingwayscat Requested Post

Good morning/afternoon everyone. First of all, I want to personally thank everyone for their support. Some of you have even donated multiple times! Thank you so much. As soon as we get Hemmingwayscat back on her feet, I will send her all the paypal donation info so that she can directly thank every last one of you - at her request! She wasn't expecting me to do this as it was, but when she told me what was going on, it was all I COULD do. I would've happily sent her all the money she needed if I had any but I don't unfortunately. I'm just finally out of debt thanks to everyone that donated when she set up the fundraisers for Nimbus and a LOT of finagling and purse string pulling on my own part! So this is my way of returning the favor for her and I want to thank every last one of you for helping me make it a success. We will be having another #gigglefest2011 pawty a little later on today (as soon as I post this and do a couple other things) and I'm sure we will next week so keep an eye on our twitter timeline!
As for the drama going on twitter right now, it makes us sad and angry that some certain people have to keep dragging things up time and time again after the rest of the anipal community has agreed to "bury the hatchet" so to speak and move on. The attacks and nasty emails to certain other tweeps (another one of which I was just made aware of) make me VERY angry. A few people are acting so much like middle school kids (at best) that it's ruining everyone else's good time. Please, this has to stop. We need to get back to the anipal community we once were. That's when we're the strongest, the best, and the funnest! (And as a side note, go ahead, email me a nasty letter, all you're gonna do is get yourself unfollowed and blocked. I do have a case of selective hearing MOL!) Let's get back focused on the parties and the friendship we all came to twitter for instead of driving people OFF of twitter!
Anyways, back to the reason for this post!!!!

This is where her and the wee ones are staying right now. The wee ones are so little that they pretty much have no clue what is really going on. That, in my opinion, is a good thing too because they won't be as traumatized by it. Homelessness is NOT cool, especially with kids involved.

Hemmingwayscat update n other stuff

Howdy pals! We've been holding off doing any blogging because we didn't wanna take the focus off of our bff @hemmingwayscat, so first and foremost here's an update: She and the wee ones are in a shelter right now, safe and dry, but those who could've sped this up a lot faster where she lives didn't get involved until last week *grumble* so I'm still hoping beyond hope to get her enough funds to get her and the wee ones out of there very shortly. But another place has to come open first! The older wee ones are hunkering down where they are safe too, though for everyone's safety I won't say where. Just know they're fine! Mama's doing the very best she can for what she's going through - and honestly I have no clue how she's doing it as it is. I'd go insane! Oh wait, I already am... MOL! I already sent her the first $300 of your donations and another $350 will go out tomorrow. So, we are well on our way to helping her out of this! It's totally not fair what she's going through, especially with all she's done for the twitter anipal community, but when life deals you lemons you gotta make lemonade out of it, and she's doing pretty dang good at it! She wants to send a very sincere thank you to everyone for their purrs and support and will do her best to thank every last one of you purrsonally once she's back up and things are back to normal.
Secondly, there's a nasty little spam email going around that LOOKS dead-on a facebook email, but it isn't! Look:

As for the twins, they are doing fine, slowly adjusting to life just the four of us. Curzon is starting to taunt his sisfur more and more, though she may not like it... it's a good sign. And they've been trying to catch the red dot more and more lately. But someone keeps hiding the bedroom tv remote from us and I have my suspicions who it is (missie yes I'm onto you...) but I can't wait to catch him/her in the act! Curzon is still wailing like the lonely cat he is sometimes at night out in the living room all alone, but he usually quiets down fairly soon. The flea situation is improving and Jazzy's neck is healing up very nicely and the fur is growing back quick. There are a few spots in the bedroom that I cannot get to that they are hiding out in, but one thing with fleas, they don't live long and so long as I keep up on the flea medicine, any hatchlings will die either from starvation or biting on da kitties and getting a big taste of Revolution (or will crawl on me to be promptly killed). It's barely been a month and a half and things are going right according to schedule. I might see if I can get another Capstar cheap (vet charges an outrageous amount for each pill) to help expedite things a little more (give it to Jaz and then put her under the bed and let the fleas crawl onto her and then get killed quick MOL) - don't worry I have plenty of Zyrtec to treat any itchies she may get in the short term. They do seem to be losing their taste for wet food but then again, it was Mr. Piggie that made them both inhale theirs - ya can't snack when you've got a pig next to you threatening to eat all of his AND yours!
Speaking of The Boy (we don't speak his name very often around here as just hearing it makes us all sad still), can you all believe we're going on 7 months now? *pout* it still seems so lonely and quiet in here, not that it was noisy when he was here! Just he brought so much energy to everyone here... It's a massive void. But I also know he's in very good company at the bridge at the family mansion where he has SURELY taken over the estate. Just isn't right... We also know that our BFF Hollie and her wee one Monkey have been spending a lot of time there, and the wind has told us that Nimmy may have himself a little lady's interest!! Then again, anyone with any brains coulda seen that the way a particular little lady picked him up last time she came around! *giggle* We just hope she knows what she getting into with that big boy!
So that is it for now... that we can think of. Please, even if it's just a dollar, please help us help @hemmingwayscat, and thank you to everyone who has already!

Emergency Help Needed

As many of you who have been around here a while know, @hemmingwayscat was our angel towards the end of last year and into the early part of this year as we struggled with Nimbus' expenses and all the setbacks that all that caused. If it wasn't for her we wouldn't have met @wildboutbirds who was a tremendous lifesaver as well (quite literally for Nimbus). But now, @hemmingwayscat needs OUR help. You see she's about to lose the roof over her and her kids' heads. She's got a good chance of finding another place to live, but with only two weeks to spare, it may not come in time. So we need to raise as much money as we can to keep this angel of a family off of the streets until they get new housing and to help them with the expenses that come with moving. Can you please help us help her out? We would be ever so grateful, and you know every little bit helps. We set the bar at $2000... will you help us blow past that?

We finally figured out a way to determine when our blogoversary was gonna be - not when TSB first started it, but when us cats started to take it over! So we figured we'd make it the date when our first furiend left a comment! We thought it'd surely be Rumbles or Brian, but it wasn't (Rumbles was #5)... Well after digging through, we found THIS post, with the very first furiend comment! We're not going to post here who it is, because we gonna make you go look! Hehehe. But we're very happy it one of our favorite furiends. And go figure, it was a Nimbus-related post.

URGENT Twitter Party Announcement

I apologize for the quick nature of this, but due to the unforseen reunion of @holliecatrocks and Monkey, I am introducing that there will be a #gigglefest2011 to help us all deal with all the recent anipals going otrb lately. Unlike other pawties however, this one will cater to anipals and humans alike! We truly believe that laughter is the best medicine, so join us around the campfire (don't worry, no wildfires will be started by the big bonfire) as we laugh about all the silly antics our anipals have done while they were here with us. I will be leading this pawty, in Monkey's honor.

Our human comfort-food menu includes salads, fish and chips, potato chips and dip, kielbasa, brats, hot dogs, hamburgers (and cheese), many flavors of jello and pudding, pizzas (including anchovy), LOTS of pies (we got a feeling a naughty kitty or two might throw one or two), donuts, crackers, chicken noodle and tomato soups, LOTS of ice cream, meatloaf, maccaroni and cheese, chocolate, and chicken!

Of course, all of our anipals are welcome to the humans' food (especially the chicken LOL), but we have special bacon-wrapped mini hot dogs, catnip cake, many bowls of milk, and all the other noms you would expect at any pawty!

And you can't forget about the drinks! We have enough alcohol to get any human so trashed that they pass out! We've got gin, rum, beer, wine, vodka, and schnopps... And a lot more stuff that TSB has no idea where to put it all! And of course, we got the sodas to go with it, and coffee and ginger ale too for those weird humans like TSB that don't drink! For the kitties, well, let's just say that TSB pulled out her barktender kit... so if you can have it ANYWHERE else furiends, we're sure TSB has it somewhere.

So we hope you can join us! We'll start around 1pm or so EST. I hope you can join me, Inigo, Sniffie, Hollie, Jack, and all of the rest of the gang as we try to help everyone through this very difficult time.

A most dreaded anniversary

As I sit here a mere two days before the most awful anniversary in recent history with Curzon on my lap, I am reminded of how lucky I am. Yes, 2001 was the worst year of my life. It was the year my Mom died and I spent the morning of 911 in the vet hospital with Snowflake knowing he wasn't going to make it. But instead of dwelling on the negatives, let's be thankful. Yes, over 3000 people died. But it could've been much worse if not for the heroes that went into those towers that day and got people out. And the Americans on Flight 93 showed those terrorists a thing or two. And I ended up rescuing two of the most precious cats I have ever seen in my life. They gave me hope when there was none. They distracted me from the pain that was swallowing me up long enough to be able to get to a point and place where I could deal with it all. So on this anniversary of national horror, let us not dwell on the negative, let us not live in fear. Let us stand up, remember those who lost their lives, and stand proud to be Americans, regardless of what our politicians do or say. Thank a soldier for volunteering themselves to the protection of our nation. Tomorrow, regardless of whatever happens or doesn't happen, we are still Americans, and together we are stronger than any terrorist, foreign or home-grown. Stand up, and be heard. Let them fear US for once.

I wanna wish the twins a very happy birthday. I'd love to do a look-back like I did with Nimbus, but I can't adequately because I do not have the CD with the pictures on it. :( They were a lot bigger than Nimbus tho when I rescued them; then again they were also a good 6 weeks or more older! MOL I would've loved to be there when the twins were born, I bet Curzon flew right out but Jadzia so resisted every last bit right to the bitter end!
So anyway, happy birthday my dear Curzon and Jadzia. You two are the most purrfect twins a hoomin could ever want! Oh, except for your naughtiness, but I would worry to death if you suddenly turned into good kitties! haha!

Good morning folks... Yes, ma's up before dawn to blog for us! What a concept eh? Ok, the REAL reason she's up is because Mr. Cat had to leave this early this morning so she was up too. Beh, but hey, at least she didn't crawl back into bed and go back to sleep!
We're making a few changes too! You'll notice them along the way. Our tweeps will notice a change or two too! We're trying to prod the old hoomin along... maybe it might actually work better if we quit calling her old lady? MOL!
We got a couple close friends IRL (one reads da bloggie we fink) going through some real tough times so we also sendin purrs fer them. PUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRR and to all of you we haven't swung by and actually left a comment for in a while PUURRRR for u too... it's not that we ain't keeping up, it's just we haven't left our pawprint!
Now for the stars of the show... US!
TSB did something she hasn't done with us in a very long time if ever - and yes it's been that long at least if WE can't remember it being done - she took us both outside at the same time!! Little sisfur didn't even have her harness on! Ya'll shoulda seen how nervous TSB was to have the "Queen" outside untethered - but she knew that she wouldn't go far without me. So I just whined like the crybaby I like to let everyone think I am to keep her around... and it worked! But there's so many good pictures, we gotta spread them out over a few days!!!!

Flashback Thankful Thursday (a wee early)

It's been a long time since TSB's been able to do it, but we're doing it just once. We are very thankful that Nimbus had 8 wonderful years with us, even though the last bit was so rough. We're also thankful that we got to experience being a whole family, and not just the humans and us twins. I know I was rough on the boy, but he turned out just as I'd hoped. I miss him dearly, as does my brother... but none more than TSB. We know this post will be very rough on her but we hope she'll forgive us this once for asking her to go down memory lane with us.

He was always a lanky cat... And serious! Just look at that face!

Now that is lanky! And to think... he wasn't even a year old in this picture!

He was such a cute little boy!!! He couldn't fully see out of those eyes yet but OMC his whiffer worked perfectly and them paws... look at them!

For a cat that loved water as much as he did, you'd never know that when he was a baby he was absolutely DISGUSTED by the mere THOUGHT of having to TOUCH water! This was the second time he approached water, the first time, earlier in the day, he did the exact same thing: sniffed it, touched it, and shook it off his paw so completely offended!

And among the things he did best, was PLAY! He loved the string thingie we all call the whip. Nimbus excelled at it, even as a kitten, to the point he could turn on a dime with just his front half without his back half even moving! He loved that toy, and while he wasn't big on dragging things around and yapping about it (unlike my brofur), the whip was the ONE thing he'd drag around and around, even if a human was on the other end of it! Look at them paws!
*sniff* we all miss him but on this Thursday, we cherish the memories of our beloved boy...

Mommy (or Daddy) bringing more food... Telling them apart was almost impossible. The only difference between the two is one had a white DOT on his/her tail and the other had a white SPLOTCH. UGH.

OMC one of the baby robins, as it branched out, FELL OUT!!! Oh he's fine, and thanks to TSB, back in the nest with his siblings. She didn't take the time to bother taking pics after he fell out, she was too concerned about getting him back in the bush, and when he didn't seem to be navigating towards the nest, back into the nest itself. He's back, but TSB worries about how the parents will react to him now that he has human scent on him. But he's almost ready to fledge, so hopefully he'll be ok. TSB has never held a robin before (obviously) but has held injured birds before, so she handled this guy ever so delicately. The bird also seemed to trust her, she says, because he had one heck of a grip on her finger! She hopes they will be fine and soon the bush will not be such a perilous place for a baby birdie! A neighbor also says that she seen one too close to the ground earlier, so it is possible it's the same baby, as he's the biggest of them. But without any further ado, here's the little guy!

Maybe not, so for anyone not fast enough to catch onto it... here it is as plain as possible. We are returning to twitter tomorrow - but we will not have any part of any drama. There has been too much as of late. We're also handing in our keys to #nipclub as it has become apparent that our trademark spontaneous pawties are no longer welcome. We have been made to feel unwelcome, and so shall we be. Now Curzon will of course appear now and then when his ladycat @pumpkinpuddy requests his presence if at all possible but we feel it is time to move on. TSB is our typist, and any drama directed towards us is going to land on her as well. She's still a grieving cat mom, as we are too still grieving, and the LAST thing any of us needs is any more drama. Cod knows there's plenty of that IRL for TSB. It's our job to protect her, and so we shall. This is why TSB took a long hiatus, and why Homey took over twitter for a while as TSB decided whether or not to return at all. We all shall protect her, so please, do not bring upon any more drama... we will not allow it. TSB has given everything to our well being and fought so valiantly to save our young prince. The last thing she needs is one more harsh word - she's had plenty over the course of his illness (oh yes, she heard lots of negatives, not from tweeps so much but definitely from uncaring insensitive humans).
Speaking of Nimbus, as you all may have noticed, he's very, VERY busy OTRB. Between his gallivants across the universe with @tabbyteztweets, keeping Inigo and Sniffie company, and helping new OTRB furiends (especially our beloved Jack) settle in, he's much too busy to be thinking about anything here - that's what we're here for, to make sure things here continue smoothly in his absence. Also, he has made known to us that he believes it to be completely unfair and detrimental to TSB's grieving process to ask her to continue typing for him - the tears still flow like a river every time she even tries. So we're putting the brakes on everything right now, for TSB's sake. We know this will hurt people, and we are so very sorry. But TSB is our top priority, and in reality, we too are still so very sad, though we try to hide it from TSB.
So that is that. We will return to twitter tomorrow, albeit very sporadically as we have yet to figure out how to type. We can turn on the computer and move the mouse, but typing is a bit more complicated with these big paws MOL! A special thank you to @shadowwhiskee @chloetoby @holliecatrocks and @hemmingwayscat for helping us keep an eye on TSB and for being there for all of us, and a special thank you to Hollie for keeping an eye on our Prince.

We made it another year in a grand experiment a few hundred years ago few thought would ever succeed! We have come a long way as a nation, and we still have a long way to go. We have our problems, but we have a LOT to be proud of too!

Let us never forget what this flag means and all those who have died defending it and us. Next time you feel the need to start dissin' on your country, remember, thousands died to give you that right, so are you REALLY going to dishonor them like that? You can dislike policies, people, etc, all you want. Heck, I've been known to do it plenty myself! But don't start dissin' this country you call home... or leave, please.

On a side note before today's (naughty) post, I know now that Blogger cut it's process out of videos so now you have to load to youtube, and while I like youtube for some things I don't want my cats up there. So what I'll probably do from here on out is have a Picasa album up for videos and just link you all there when there's one there. I know it ain't as easy, but it might be my only solution. I haven't figured out TwitVid yet.... MOL

Curzon is very naughty, he LOVES chewing on things... Belts, cords, shoelaces, you name it, he'll chew on it until I stop him, and if I'm not careful, especially in the case of yarn, drawstring, or the like, he will actually EAT it. Here's what he was doing a few days ago. And no I'm not that concerned, you got to understand. I paid a whole measly $1 for it at the thrift store a couple years ago. I think I have another one around here too. I know how to replace on the cheap too. And... he didn't kill it too bad...

I guess my belt is really really nommy. Either that or he's just a nut - which I'm convinced he is!
This is what he did to it in the matter of a couple brief minutes.

Yes folks we're still alive and kicking... I just haven't been in much of a mood for even much photography lately. It's not the cats' fault, it's mine! Curzon had a MAJOR naughty tho last night - he got up on the computer desk! Now that doesn't SOUND that bad but there's not really a lot of space to be had and a lot of potential disasters waiting! And not only did he get up he refused to get down too no matter how much I yelled at him! So I had to get up and give him a tail bop to get the point across. Curzon hates anyone messing with his tail so a gentle tap on the tail, especially near his rear, tends to get his attention. If only he wasn't right in front of the computer monitor, I coulda gotten him with the water bottle, my much preferred disciplinary tool. But oh well... he got the point. I knew there was a reason I had so much crap on the desk! I clear it off and he gets up! hmmmm... MOL I will try to get back to blogging more regularly again soon, but I still have not made a twitter decision. But from what I'm hearing I'm not the only one taking a twitter break. I'm through with the drama... and I was through with it years ago. It's the exact same reason I left chat rooms over 5 years ago now. I don't have time for it, especially now. I'm still trying to deal with life without Boo. *cry* It's been such a rough year, losing Keiko, Inigo, Praline, Sniffie, Nimbus, and all the others that have gone OTRB. It's just not right, especially when they're so young and innocent, like Nimbus and Inigo especially. There wasn't a naughty bone in Nimbus' body or soul, unless you count those evil looks he gave if I let his litterbox get sub-standard! MOL. So many memories... I just can't go there right now. It helped in the beginning, but now it just makes me cry. I need to borrow a Rumbles or Shadow... or Dante! I need to borrow a big ol Coonie that's Nimmy-sized... just for a day (ok what am I saying... I prolly hold 'em hostage!) MOL!
Anyways, Peace and Purrs to all of you, I know there are a lot of sick anipals out there and a lot of hoomins going through the same icky crap I am. May we all find our way to our own peace. And thanks to @shadowwhiskee, @danapixie, @whskr, @flacatlady, @hemmingwayscat, @wildboutbirds, @holliecatrocks, @chloetoby and all the others that have been so awesome recently... and OMC I know I forgetting so many... and superpurrs to all the victims of the recent tornados in the south, midwest, and now northeast! WTF? DEADLY tornados in MASSACHUSETTS? *perfuddled* I'd understand western PA... but not that far north! *sigh* crazier things have happened. That Joplin tornado came too close to my peeps in SE Kansas though... the tornado dropped just east of them luckily but talk about being worried sick... There have been at least TWO worknights I've stayed up way past my bedtime to watch the radar for my peeps because their tv coverage and accessibility out there SUCKS. Plus, being a Kansas kid, I read radar just as good if not better than most of these dimwits on tv, especially here!

I've had a lot of things going on this last week or two so I haven't taken as many pictures as I'd like - or need to do another week's worth of blogs! So there probably won't be anything from us this week. I'm still on twitter hiatus too... so that helps free up some time. But I just got too many things on the mental plate right now. Yesterday marked 2 months now since Nimbus got sent OTRB and it still hurts so much. Curzon cried for the first time since Nimbus was first rushed off to the hospital over 2 months ago. Oh and both twins have a case of soft stool! I have no idea where it came from but I didn't discover it until AFTER they got wet food, which is only making it worse! Dangit! But hopefully it'll pass soon. *sigh* *cough* I don't know how much longer I can take the stink! MOL

Many of you who are also twitter pals of ours know that our hoomin decided that she needed to take a break from the twitterverse. This may or may not affect our blogging, because IF she can get enough pictures of us, she can have a week's worth of posts done in an hour or less. It's just become way too much for her and right now she just needs to relax and focus on US! Of course all these treats are pawsome but they don't replace good TSB cuddles. I did hypnotize her right to sleep yesterday morning though, but actually she hypnotized me! She had me so warm and comfy it was impossible for a mancat to not fall asleep in his hoomin's arms! Yes, I admit it, i'm a mama's boy so to speak. She was mine first! I just let sisfur share. Anyway, so if we go silent for a bit, you know why. We hope it won't be long but we really need TSB back to her normal self, or as she says, a new normal. We all are pretty unsure about the whole new normal for all of us.

So today I shows you me leapin off of our pawsome scratching post to go hang out wif TSB!

When dat monster flashie thingie went off, my front paws had just left the post. Now it's not a long leap but it a wee complicated as if you miss the bed you either gonna slide down the foot of the bed (as there's a gap between the footboard and the bed) or you're gonna hit the footboard itself! I've never done either (that I remember of at least) MOL. But I also haven't figured out how Nimbus, who weighed nearly double what I do, could do it FROM THE FLOOR and not be felt. Ninja cat, I tell you. He must've had a little of all of Mr. Cat's OTRB cats in him. But it doesn't surprise me... Mr. Cat is just pawsome! Yesh, I luv my other hoomin... he reminds TSB to feed us and freshen our water and sneaks us treats now and then when TSB ain't around... hehehe.

We may or may not have new posts coming up. I'm still fighting the onset of a cold and so far I'm winning - but I have to go to work tomorrow & it's supposed to be NASTY so we'll see. We have some liquid dayquil I almost took but one whiff & that was a no go! So I took a couple asprins to help keep any fever onset in check & ate some pasta to give my body lots of carbs to convert to energy to continue fighting. I ain't no newbie at fighting bugs.
