Politics, Issues, and Questions

Hello my dear blog friends. I have to say that it definitely FEELS
like winter outside, though it still doesn't LOOK like it outside. My
birthday is quickly approaching and, as I told my roommate, we didn't
get a white holiday season, we won't see white this weekend either. If
I see a few flakes I'll be impressed LOL. It's ok though, I intend to
stay home as it'll be bitterly cold outside. I was out today, and just
the light breeze was enough to go up the coat and through the thin
scarf that my better half brought home for me. Luckily I brought the
main piece of the scarf I'm crocheting for myself, and during a quick
pit stop, was able to get it underneath the main scarf and was warm
(on the cheeks at least) for the majority of the rest of my time
outside. I was in a definite hurry to get home though, as the wind was
directly in my face for most of the way home.
So what's with this former congressman now indicted on charges of
financially supporting terrorists and lobbying fellow congresspeople
for donations under the auspices of an orphanage in need. We're not
talking Hezbollah, we're talking Al-Qaida itself. Someone needs to let
him die the way Al-Qaida killed 3000 of our own citizens if you ask
me. I know, I know (so don't get preachy on me Walter LOL just
kidding) vengeance isn't my place, but just hearing of a creep like
that makes me angry and sick all at once!!
And what do you make of the FDA now saying that eating meat and
drinking milk from cloned animals is as safe as normally produced meat
and milk? Do you agree? Would you eat or drink products from cloned
animals? And do we know for sure we aren't already? Is it like the
city out in California turning liquid human waste into drinking water?
Would you drink it if you knew what it was and/or how it was produced?
Ok, last question, and you get to ask it. What issue would you like to
know my opinion on that's currently in this political debate? You name
it, I'll answer it, or at least try to. From abortion to zoos, I'll
tackle it the best I can. I can't guarantee you'll agree, or even that
I won't offend you, or that I might change my mind later as I do more
research, but I'll give you my current opinions! I'll even do it in a
blog, unless it's too private. But good luck getting one of them, I'm
pretty open most of them time.
I await your questions and your answers to my questions!

Lynx, lynx, Lynx, you ask a lot of questions, don't you?
1.In regard to modified foods, while GM is relatively new, food products have always been modified with cross breeding and the such., GM is just taking the process one step, albeit a huge one, further.
Cloning is another thing again, and the health aspects have yet to be proven. As far as I can tell, as yet it has not been 100% effective with the animals not living as long as usual, nor as healthy as natural born animals usually, so there is still a lot of work to be done on that, and the probable Health benefits, before it will become viable.

2. as for eating or drinking waste products.
If they are properly processed and handled, there should be no reason not too on health grounds.
Only on personal sensitivities.
As to whether I would try them personally? Definitely, even if only to see how they differ in taste.
In South Africa, we ate a lot of food that we would not normally consider edible in Oz. Some, not all, we even acquired a taste for.
So long as it was cooked or processed properly, I would have no ethical problems with it.
3. As a side point to recycling waste water and the such, with the raw sources of these materials, even water, becoming scarcer by the year and the cost of dumping the waste products, it makes both practical, and economic, as well as ecological sense to use and re-use as much of our waste products as possible.
4.
As far as anyone supporting terrorist groups, whilst I wouldn't do that to them personally, I would not loose any sleep over it if it happened to them anyway! At the risk of being called preachy, I would simply say that in the Old Testament, the Lord often used neighboring enemies to wreak His vengeance on the Evil doers.
5 With that I will close with hte wish that your weather will warm up for you there.
