Sorry folks for my extended blogcation. I don't know when it'll end, but I don't see it changing for the forseeable future. I will probably remain spotty at best, but I will try to at least pop in once a week to say hi to most of you. Mr. Hendrix, there's a part of this blog just for you LOL.
First of all, wow what happened in Haiti. We'd be hurtin' bad enough here with that magnitude of an earthquake (fyi it's been over 10 years since CA has seen one that strong). Such a nation like Haiti... I can only imagine the helplessness. I know how helpless I felt after the 99 tornado and the flood here a couple years back, but it doesn't even come close. Anyone that would say it did would be an ignorant idiot at least. Sheesh. Just seeing the pics on tv leaves me speechless. But that's the cycle of life on this 3rd rock from the sun. The only thing that stays the same is the planet keeps shifting itself around.
As for Mr. Hendrix and our beloved Bengals, I feel your pain. That game came down to 3 errors, one on Carson and 2 on "Shankapotomous" Shane. I don't know about you, but I think at least Shane has to go. And while we're at it, can we trade Chad for TJ? TJ was a much better receiver almost every time. Once Chad gets covered, he's useless. It's as if he's forgotten how to break out of coverage most of the time anymore. He showed a little faint glimpse of his old self at the end of the game, but it was much too little WAY way too late. But, you're right, there is always next year. And we have no reason to be ashamed. Our Bengals had a great year, especially considering everything they went through. Did any of us expect that we'd have the year we did before it started? I know I didn't. We can't be sore losers, that's for Pitt fans ROFL. We probably should swallow our pride and cheer on our division rival Ravens, but I have other priorities first. I never thought I'd find myself cheering for the Cowboys, but I cannot stand to see the Traitor (Favre) win any more games. He must be silenced, his playoff future extinguished. I'm NOT calling for an injury folks, sheesh... I want DEFEAT! I want Brett to have to admit he's not the best thing since sliced bread. That's just me though. Oh well...
Oh I got curious night before last and decided to tinker with the old Toshy PDA and guess what - IT FINALLY DECIDED TO WORK! Now I'm not going back to it by any stretch of the imagination. Not a chance in hell, the alignment is still bunky at best. But now I have the chance to make sure I can get everything off that I need. I am still finding programs that aren't working, but lately I've been lucky that I've got duplicates for most of them because I really don't want to actually install anything else on this one. I had three proggies for example that take screeshots of my screen, just like you can on your desktop PCs. I had forgotten about one though and was searching over the internet trying to find one that I could use when, thanks to Mr. Toshy, I remembered I had the third one. Woohoo! So now I probably should spend the time going through and making sure everything else works. But that'll instead be on an as-needed basis. Or... As an as-I-find-time basis rofl.
Nimbus has been quite the pest lately, diabetes-wise. He's all the way back up where he was dose-wise before Christmas, and I don't know why. Maybe he just had so much built up in him, he was drawing on his reserves. Who knows... LOL. All I know is that I'm a couple hairs away from calling the vet for a round of meds for the cat in case he's got something bunky in him that's causing him to go up. A lot will be based off of where he measures at his 4pm shot. We'll see. But hey, I'm proud of myself. I'm keeping up much better with his numbers, only letting myself get a couple days behind as it's easier to chart out for some reason. His chart though, as he's dealing with this adjustment, looks chaotic though lol.
I'm not sure if I got to write about this or not, but hehehe this time the chef in ME came out. A couple nights ago I cooked up the shoulder lamb chops I got at the grocery store a few days ago and, of course, it has to be cooked slow. Good thing too because I was starving but Mr. Cat wasn't even hungry. Well, it was still a little warm when Mr. Cat got to eating, so I just had to throw it in the microwave for a few seconds just to kill anything that might have started growing on it. One can never be too careful with meat you know... So anyways, I guess it was real good because I got huggies that night and I was still getting props the next day for a great dinner. Hehehe, and to think... I thought I screwed it up, because his taste buds are aligned a wee differently than mine, and I had overdone one of the rub ingredients a bit. I surprised myself on that one... And relieved! There is nothing more satisfying than cooking something that goes over so well, whether it be for a bunch of people or just Mr. Cat. I love it when he cooks for me, don't get me wrong, because he's the best cook in PA as far as I'm concerned (ok, I'm biased I know). But when I cook something he just loves, it makes me feel real daggum good deep down. So now I guess I got to make some more... Hehehe but first he's makin' me my birthday dinner... And I cannot wait! Yes I know what it's going to be, and I know how good he cooks it. I'm about to start drooling just thinking of it!
