A Not-So Quick Note

OMG this is bad. If I would've known how bad the snow was going to be I wouldn't have promised I was going into work - or I would've at least gotten my boots ready! OMG what was SUPPOSED to be a foot to a foot and a half of snow easily is two foot if not two and a half. There was two foot at 5am this morning when we first started trying to dig our way to the van. You know it's bad when you're still crawling down the road after the snow's stopped. The poor plow drivers can't even keep up. I can't recall ever seeing this much snow fall this quickly. Two foot in around 9 hours. This is bad... Never mind we got probably another 4-6" during the morning. I have no idea why I didn't call out today. I just felt that I had to be there, and it's safe to say, between my scooping the snow out of the way and Mr. Cat's brilliant persistence behind the wheel, we got out of this snowy hell called our parking lot. I know it's snowed worse before, I was born in worse. But as I said, I don't recall ever seeing this much fall before. There's a little voice in the back of my head telling me to take the cats out but I'd have to retrieve them too! It's the same voice that keeps telling me to jump in myself but after spending over an hour in it this morning, falling on my behind 3 times (you know the snow's deep when you fall on your butt but your butt can't find the ground lol), I don't ever want to SEE snow again. I'm done. That'll teach me for blowing off the ONE tv station that said this one was going to be bad. Sheesh.
So needless to say, the blogcation is still on... But not because I'm so busy but I now have to spend the rest of my day thawing out! Thank God I brought a change of clothes with me to work, but they weren't the thick clothes I needed to get warm, just enough to keep me from freezing. So after this thaw-out, it's time to dive under the covers, catnap Curzon, and cuddle for a while. I don't think he'll protest too much, he sure didn't last night! And for those of you who are curious: no, this much snow is NOT pretty unless you're a kid. It LOOKS like hell, it FEELS like hell, I'm not too sure hell didn't freeze over. Now I know what my Mom went through a little bit when she was waiting for me to finally decide to come into this world. But still, that was 3 times as much snow, a lot steeper hills, and overdue preggo with a stubborn kid. But now I know what it's like to try to navigate in such high snow. This time I'll remember it. I got the feeling that I've experienced this before, but I don't remember it. All I know is that today isn't a day to rest, it's a day to thaw the joints and muscles out!
I'm not sure I'll even get to reading blogs today, as I didn't yesterday either. I might have to put that off until Monday (I won't be home much tomorrow). But know I will catch up with everyone eventually, even if I don't leave you a message to let you know I was there. It's just too cold to even let the arms out from under the blankets much less emerge from bed!
I hope everyone is doing good. I will see everyone soon, and stay warm!
Misha darling, by the way, if you want, I'll send you 6" of snow for 10 degrees of your heat! We need it!
