Howdy everyone. I hope this finds everyone ok and all of you who made the time switch this morning an hour ahead of where we were yesterday. I still haven’t set my alarm forward, Mr. Cat got the kitchen clock, my PDA didn’t update so I had to reinstall the update (which I was figuring I might back in December when I got it), but the computer updated but the message saying it had didn’t pop up. So I’m not quite sure wth is going on there. I’ll reboot here in a few minutes after I post this.
To answer Rumble’s question in yesterday’s post comments, it may or may not mean more of the JazzyCat. She is notorious for being camera shy at times so it’s always a big shot in the dark whether or not I get any pics of her, much less decent ones!
Nimbus isn’t doing good, numbers wise. The stubbornbutt is way too high. He scared me half to death last night with a 175 reading. He hasn’t been this high in ages and earned himself a bigger shot of insulin. He was lower this morning, but not by nearly enough, as the 140s is still way too high. But I’ll take the drop. So I might come home with more than just a cat, food, and flea medicine tomorrow. It’s not so much that he’s showing a lot of signs of being too high, I just won’t let him get that high, so telling when he’s sick is a bit problematic at best. We will see where he goes from here.
These cats must know I have a longer weekend. I swear I’ve NOT had a cat on me for more than 5 minutes since I got home and finally sat down yesterday! First it was Jadzia, then Curzon yesterday evening (I had to wake him up just so I could get up and eat dinner). Then this morning when I got up it was both of the twins, Curzon on my lap and Jadzia right beside him! When he left, she promptly moved over. She left for a few minutes (you know, cat business) and now she’s back, laying on my arm as I’m trying to write, grabbing on the other one! Maybe she doesn’t want me writing right now! All I know is she’s going to be upset when I have to take my arm back from underneath her so I can actually post this! LOL silly cats. The only one that hasn’t been demanding attention is Nimbus, but that’s not Boo’s style anyway. He only demands attention when he needs something, usually food. But that’s highly regulated (so that they don’t run out while no one’s home to feed them), so if he has to go an hour, I make him go an hour, but that rarely happens. I just fear them running out when there’s no one here to feed him more.
The rain finally stopped! OMG I thought it would never stop – almost seriously. It rained Friday light but steadily, and then yesterday it was an all day soaker, with some really heavy bursts. The creek almost jumped the bank on my side, and it got a wee up the neighbor’s backyard on the other side. Luckily for us, it flooded downstream I guess (the NWS said it flooded), hopefully where it had room to without damaging any property. We are also lucky we have a good retention pond here that helps take some pressure off of the creek, and the ducks love it when the water comes up (it’s the only way they can chase the friggin’ Canadian Geese out of there). So they were in duck-heaven-on-earth for sure. The creek has already dropped back down to its normal levels (as is normal) so I’m quite happy.
As some of you non-cat-bloggers may know, Walter went off and took himself another vacation (I’m so jealous). So, even though I know it’s too late for him to see, I hope you have a safe vacation and hope you and your wife have a great trip. See you when you get back!
I just noticed how scatterbrained I am today, sheesh! I’m hopping from one thing to another without any logic behind it. Oh well, that’s the way the brain works!
So anyways, there will probably be another post later with pics if I can get the cats to cooperate, but I have to start small – I still haven’t rescued my arm from underneath Jadzia yet, even though she is making it very difficult to type. Silly cat!
Oh before I go, I forgot to mention this.
Mr. Cat and I decided (was his idea btw) that a pot roast sounded real good (don’t tell Jaz or Boo, but Curzon got a couple nibbles) so we had to get another crock-pot because the one we had is too small to say the least for the size he ended up getting. Well, of course you know what that means… BIG BOX! (Well, and if you knew how good of a cook he is, you’d know Mr. Cat makes one heck of a roast, but you’ll just have to take my word for it LOL.) I came out this morning to give Nimbus his shot and LMAO there’s Jadzia sitting in the box marking it as hers! It was meant to be Curzon’s but I guess he didn’t claim it fast enough. He thought he could steal it from her a little while ago but he wasn’t counting on her being quite so mean back to him to defend it! But now that she’s distracted by laying on my lap, I bet you he’s taken it over – I just can’t sit move quite enough to tell for sure. Jadzia has me pinned quite well to say the least.
Anyways, I should go… save this, reboot, and then post… Jadzia darling can I have my arm back???
“Nope! I’ll let you have your left arm though.”
“I ain’t a lefty! I need my right arm!”
“Nope, not happening, sorry.”
“I guess I’ll have to take it the hard way then…”
Off I go to pull the ol’ slide-a-roo…
