Before we get to the pics... a couple other things.
Netvibes isn't working on my PDA now, but all of a suddenly Google is again, Reader AND Gmail! WTF is going on I have no idea. So who knows where this'll go from here. Just as I got Netvibes all set up the way I liked it too. Dangit.
So anyways, as I was coming in from checking the mail and putting the 2nd load of laundry in the dryer, I happened upon this long earthworm that was still alive. Now it was by no means the longest I'd ever seen, but long enough to suffice for a chance to give the cats a wee hunting and killing training. It didn't go well. But, they haven't seen worms much, so I wasn't expecting too much. But considering how it went the last time, we're making improvements. Nimbus still doesn't know what to make of them, but heck, the twins are just starting to figure it out! They tried to eat it, but didn't succeed. Curzon just mauled it into 3 pieces, and I couldn't take it anymore. I let the poor worm go (don't worry, if he survives the rainstorm we got, he'll grow the other side back - worms are weird like that). Anyways, here's the photo proof of our little training exercise.
There's the earthworm before he got too terribly attacked. Jadzia had first dibs before I started the photo shoot but she didn't do much damage with her teeth. It's usually more of a whappin' toy for her.
It's more an object of curiousity for the Boo, who must analyze everything several times over.
As I said, the JazzyCat just kinda whaps at it more than anything.
Curzon sniffs and inspects and tastes...
... Whapps a bit...
Gets a weird look on his face (I've never seen this look before... EVER)...
... Gives the flashy box and anyone near him the eye...
Some more whappies...
Of course Nimbus has to find out what his uncle's up to, even if he already knows. Beware, if you biggify you'll see the pieces of worm on the floor LOL.
And then they give me the eye like I'm intruding! LOL
Anyways, that's what we were doing while the storm was wrapping up around here. It was nothing major as I figured, but seeing as it was the first thunder of the year, it was a wee unexpected. Curzon came out pretty quickly from under the bed though, and that made me feel good. Hopefully I put that worm in a safe enough spot to heal and regrow away from cats and birds! But with all the rain that fell, I doubt it... a lot came down quite quickly.
