First of all from TSB, she's got an editorial piece up on her blog that she thinks perhaps some of her American readers might want to read, especially the women, so those non-cat bloggers and some of you cats' beans might want to head over.
Secondly. We apologize for not putting pictures up today. It wasn't that TSB wasn't cooperating, we weren't! Nimbus hasn't left the chair barely in two days and us twins are just trying to snooze the time away. I did give my sister a big ol' bath though - not once, but twice! See, sometimes I'm a good cat. We'll ignore the chase afterwards!
We want to also send out hugs to Sniffie and her bean over at Friends Furever because of the recent introosion into their email account. Everyone here knows we went through the same thing a week ago, and it's hell. TSB felt so angry and upset it wasn't fun on any of us. And just as she thought she had an idea of who might've done it, now she's second guessing that. It no longer seems to be an isolated, personal attack. So here's our advice, that was also posted as a comment on their blog:
1. Change your password, and make it long. 8 characters minimum.
2. Delete all your saved passwords on your browser.
3. Write all your passwords down or store them on something that can't be hacked into.
4. Write down all your contacts' email addresses or store them like in #3.
5. Wipe out your online email account's contact list. This makes it harder for a spammer introoder to do their thing.
6. If there's something important in the email, write it down, or print it off... The less email in your account, the less the introoder has to work with.
7. Run your anti-virus, anti-trojan, anti-keylogger scanner programs. TSB suggests AVG, though it will slow your computer down as it works 24-7 in the background. It's hard to get past that. However, we don't believe that's how they're getting in this time. This seems to be a purely online attack.
We send out our biggest snorkel, tribble, and sonic purrs to everyone that's been on the introoded end of such an attack and to those who were on the spammer's receiving end.
We hope to have pictures up soon... Provided we decide to cooperate!
