Nimbus

Well Nimbus has all his meds now. I stopped by and picked up the urine acidifiers and his appetite stimulant today (was supposed to yesterday but due to a bus that never came and another that was WAY late I was too tired and mad to do anything but come home and be with my baby). So here's his schedule.
In the am he gets a pill and a half of his diuretic, his urine acidifier, and his appetite stimulant half-pill. In the afternoon he gets another pill and a half of diuretic, another urine acidifier, another stimulant half-pill and a quarter-pill of atlenolol.
It's an awful lot for a cat, and that's not including his twice-daily diabetes ritual. He's a very sick cat, but if he pulls thru all this, he should be able to come off the appetite stimulant and the diuretic soon. I just HAVE to get him thru this - somehow. What it does to me is a moot point right now. I can recover. Nimbus is counting me for his recovery.
He put up one hell of a fight today, which is a good sign, right? He did NOT want his meds, much less the pill shooter down his throat three times!!!! And another thing comforting me (albeit maybe false hope) is that if it WAS his heart failing, he'd be gone by now. The atlenolol is strong, but even it can't stop a dying heart from dying. I'm starting to believe that whatever is going on, he is going to be able to pull through it. We just hope so... I'm not ready to say goodbye. I doubt the twins are either.

I purring for you really hard!

Mom Paula: I am really feeling your pain. Praline is really showing her age the past three months and I'm a nervous wreck every day. I hope Nimbus pulls through this and you will have him with you a lot longer.

We hope Nimbus does continue to show his fighting spirit and pull through. The mom will tell you, though, that no matter the circumstances, no one ever is ready to say goodbye, even when it's the only course and you know it's a kindness and mercy.
