As our twitter followers may have noticed we sent a quick post to tell everyone we are taking a twitter vacation. We have been dealing with hell and honestly we need to walk away from the internet for a little while and that being said, we feel we should at least tell you why.
As many of you know, there are three hoomins in this house: Mr. Cat, TSB, and the other hoomin aka our roommate. His name is Billy, and we like him.
Unfortunately, Billy has left us.
Thursday night he celebrated the end to another work week and the beginning of his vacation. He spent the night with his friends a couple doors down and crashed there, prepared to come home and get ready for his drive home to kentucky to see his family today.
Unfortunately plans changed.
Billy passed away sometime in his sleep yesterday morning, we believe from a heart attack or sleep apnea. The autopsy was scheduled for today but obviously we aren't blood family so we may not know for sure. We have been in contact with his family, who are devastated, having just buried his father a few years ago.
We would like to tell you a little about our friend.
Billy bled red and blue - for the Marines and the University of Kentucky. He joined the Marines as a young man and was sent to Beruit just after all hell broke loose. A farmer's son, his hillbilly roots were as deep as the deepest midwestern well, pure southern gentleman. He never raised his voice, no matter how angry he got. Being a corn-fed southern man, he knew his mere presence and size was more than adequate to calm any situation. After he got out he picked back up tools (albeit different ones) and got to building, installing elevators and teaching the young ones how to do it right (including our own Mr. Cat).
We only knew him for 6 years and a couple meetings before that (though he and Mr. Cat knew each other over a decade) but we truly liked Billy. He was a dog guy, and we knew it, but he always made sure he kept an eye out for us since hoomins tend to trip over us. When Nimbus went otrb, he was there for TSB with a shoulder and a hug.
Billy, you will be missed, friend.
Peace to your Mother, brothers, kids and the rest of your friends and family. May you get through the gates before the devil even knows you're gone or however that Irish saying goes. We'll miss you, hugs from all of us ye Irish gent!

You know you are in our thoughts and prayers.  When someone leaves us unexpectedly, it's so hard to believe and hard for it to sink in.   (((Hugs))), purrs and prayers.
