Thankful Wednesday/Thursday

A special Thankful Thursday

I am so very thankful for my kids. Yes, they're cats, but they're our kids. I can honestly say I've lost a job because of them, and if I had it to do all over again, I wouldn't change a thing.
As many of you know, I rescued the twins off the streets as starving, malnourished, famished, filthy approximate 6week old kittens. Curzon came first, Jadzia was found and snatched a day and a half later. I was in no position or condition to, but one look at Curzon and I couldn't say no. I knew I had to, and I'd find a way. Once again, if I had it to do all over again, I wouldn't change a thing.
Yes, I saved them. But in reality they saved me too. They provided humor as only kittens can in the darkest of days. They were the bright spot at the end of the worst year of my life. And then, not even a year after I rescued them, Jadzia dropped a little surprise on us!
We didn't even know Jazzy was pregnant until the day before she had him, he just hid THAT well. He was a tiny little runt, but as an only kid, he had a chance. I was intent on helping mama as much as she needed. Curzon wasn't allowed NEAR his sister for a week at least after delivery except for when she needed to use the cat box and to grab a quick drink. She was spoiled, she was fed in-nest. I wanted her to have time to bond with the little runt. After I gave Curzon SUPERVISED access, it became obvious he was going to be daddycat. He was spotted (not by me unfortunately LOL) putting the little guy back IN the nest (I have no idea how he got OUT)... I thought then that it was a fluke, but after Mr. Cat moved the four of us in with him, it became obvious that Nimbus had no intention of being an obedient child! He escaped from mama's nest more times than she'd care to admit to but was always spotted and returned to the nest as only a mama cat could.
So yes, I'm thankful for the little rascal that grew into the most well-behaved, gentle, sweet soul I've ever known. He didn't live long, but in those short years, he gave us a lifetime of laughs and memories as only the Nim could. His adventure of climbing Mount Loveseat ranks right up with the twins' kangaroo boxing when THEY were kittens! Or maybe it was bear fighting... I don't know I've just never seen cats chest-slam each other! LOL
So thank you, my dear Nimbus for being the most magnificent cat ever. No disrespect, Curzon or Jadzia.
Thank you Jadzia for being the most wonderful mama cat a human could ever ask for even though you were still a mere kitten yourself. And you showed that motherhood doesn't have to end after a few months.
And thank you Curzon for finding me and being there for me as much as I was there for you. You may be my big ol' mancat, but you're also my bff, wrasslin partner, and source of a LOT of laughter. Now PLEASE STOP EATING EVERYTHING! CARPET, TOWELS, AND ANYTHING OTHER THAN KIBBLE TREATS AND STINKY GOODNESS IS NOT MEANT FOR KITTY CONSUMPTION!
And thank you, Mr. Cat, for taking us as a package deal, loving us all, and being the most awesomest cat daddy EVER!

Geesh... she never shuts up does she? But that's mama for ya. Miss her terribly. But I also wanted to sneak in a Thankful Thursday to my bootiful wifey Princess Sniffie of Florida and her wonderful fambly for loving me as one of their own. Our mamas have been furiends for a very long time and I should've made my feelings known before we both ended up here. But what matters is we're together now :) And also a big Thankful Thursday thank you and hugs to my BFF and role model Brian. I don't get how you deal with all them sisfurs but you handle it like a champ! You and yours have been true friends of ours just as long and, well, we can't imagine the innernets without yous! As for you, my dear Rumbles... I love you to pieces bro, love your brofur Inigo as my almost-twin brofur... but dude, you can't keep my mama hangin on! I will fully support her if she decides to smooch up with the Hamlet. If you're gonna be king of the harem, you best get busy because there's a lot of ladycats out there you've been neglecting to smooch up on lately! *giggle* All HamThreats aside, love ya bro, and don't quit being naughty! Someone has to remind mama that Curzon's not the most naughty cat!

Crown Prince Joseph A Nimbus of Iowa

A special shout-out thankful thursday to miss Dana for giving Daffy a second home and sharing it with the rest of us! You rock! And to our other facebook furiends, especially DaisyMae for putting up with mama's gaming talents, Liz for dealing with mama's silliness, and Brenda for being just an awesome lady who's gone through a lot lately on her own end with the poor Chew. Hugs to you and the pup, dear!
