Bloody Streets in the City of Brotherly Love

The city of Philadelphia is truly a city in crisis mode. It's only 7 months into the year and there have already been 235 murders in the city limits. This is not only a sad fact, it is a travesty, because in so many cases, even victims' families will not help the police for fear of their own lives. This has to change, not just for the city, but for the over-burdened investigators in the police force. Philadelphians must get over this fear and their sometimes rightful distrust of the police and start working to make the nation's birthplace a safer city. I would like to hear what you, my faithful readers, think could and/or should be done to help the city stop this violent trend. Last year saw just over 400 murders, and by the end of this year, that number could easily be close to 500. What do you think?
