Well, I can run my desktop in safe mode, but not safe mode with networking, so it's still down. The "1800905Geek" people want upwards of $200 so that's out, and all the geeks I know around here are linux geeks, not very useful for winXP. It has to be in the network settings but I can't access them in regular safe mode. I may be resorted to reformatting altogether, but at least with safe mode operational, I'll be able to save everything first. Sorry for the lag in posting but the desktop has me frustrated. I'd hate to have to choose between which one to have online, as I'd be liable to choose the pda. I will get that desktop back online - one way or another!
