Howdy from the frozen Mid-Atlantic. Sure is cold outside - weather thingie on Mr. Cat's laptop says it's 18 degrees outside with a wind chill of 12. I'm still in my PJ's (so to speak, more like winter loungewear lol), so I'm not going outside to measure the snow. All I'm saying is it's WAY too much! They're still calling for anywhere between 10 and 20 inches of the stuff, depending on which weather guy you watch. So all I know is: it's snowing too much, it's WAY too cold, and I'm staying inside with my cats! Jadzia's on my lap and Nimbus is right next to me hogging up half the couch! Well, almost half, to be fair - my skinny rear could slide in on the other side, but not much of anything else. We're very content to just stay here inside where it's snuggly and dry! Oh, granted I did ponder going outside to measure it earlier today, but that thought lasted about a half a second lol! I peeked out the bedroom window first this morning and I couldn't tell where the outside sill stopped and the ground started it's all so friggin white and that was hours ago. I might try to take a picture of it, but I doubt that I'll even do that. It's miserable outside and why go out in it if I don't have to? So long as I don't have to go to work, I'm not going out in the cold unless you give me a LOT better reason. I don't feel like freezing today. I'll pass, thank you very much!
I came out this morning to give Nimbus his shot and the first cat I saw was actually Jadzia. She was all wrapped up in the nip sock, obviously high, staring up at me holding it as if she was saying she'd be late for our cuddle session. Hahaha I just kept going - as high as she looked, I wasn't going to risk her mistaking my hand for a toy and going after it. She rarely gets that high, but I also don't want to get scratched like that at 430 either!
There's a tv station here that's doing non-stop coverage of the snow. Like, let's be real folks. If you don't HAVE to be outside, STAY HOME! Take it slow if you have to, and relax. So you know what the tv stations should all do? They should put a banner on top of their screen saying, "STAY HOME - it's not worth it, no matter what." But would they do it? Nope. It's all about the money for these retailers, but if everyone would just wait 24 hours, it'd be a lot easier and safer on them. Oh well, ya can't fix stupid. Stupid being the idiot going 40mph in this weather, of course. Or the idiot that tried to make the hard turn at 20mph instead of slowing down to a crawl so his car's tires could keep a grip... This isn't the end of the world, it's just a good snow for the area. If you want to see how bad winter can really get, spend a winter in Duluth, Chicago, or Buffalo - THEY know bad snowstorms!
Anyways, I am off for now to try to figure out what I want to eat. Yes, folks, it's all about the food to me lol!
Huggs to Callie's beans and furfriends once again. Miss ya girlie!
