Miscellaneous Stuff

First of all, yes it's true. One of my favorite comeback potential football players is dead. Chris Henry died this morning from injuries sustained during a domestic incident involving his fiancee driving off and him somehow ending up in the back of the pickup truck and then somehow ending up on the side of the road with severe head trauma. Some speculation is that he jumped out after she refused to stop. No one knows and obviously it's way too early to speculate. He broke his arm last month during game so he wasn't going to be able to play the rest of the year but he was a tremendous source of support and pride within the team. Chris was a mere 26 years old, with a lot of life ahead of him if he continued to keep his head down as he had throughout this season. As a Bengals fan, I send my condolences out to his family, his teammates, and all his other friends after such a tragic loss.
That said, let's move on.
Today we got two packages. The first of them was for the kitties, but they didn't want it. It was Jadzia's medicine and flea medicine for all 3. This time I got smart. I got the boys out of the way first because they rarely have issues with trying to remove their flea medicine. Jadzia on the other hand... Well, forget about it. So I gave her the medicine and then her pill (sounds backwards I know but I was trying to give that flea medicine every chance it could lol). But instead of letting her go, I scooped her up carefully and made her cuddle with me for a good 15 minutes (and after about 2 minutes of attention she was staying willingly lol). It's safe to say she forgot all about the medicine on her and it's doing it's job without getting her all foamy-mouthed because she's trying to take it off. Now I still have to watch her as she bathes to make sure she doesn't get to any of it, but I also put it up a little higher where her fur is thinner too so that it had less fur to get all over and was harder for her tongue to reach. I do think more cuddling is due though, just because I want to and the meds gives me a good excuse, as if I needed one!
Nimbus' diabetes is restabilizing. He had a wee spike this week (though nothing worth getting concerned about, just normal stuff), but has since (so far) come back down. I am happy to say that, while he's absolutely huge, he's healthy and energetic when he choses to use his energy. Most of the time he's too busy snoopervising his mother and making sure she's not up to some devious plot against him.
Oh and back to Jazzy... Her neck fur is growing back very nicely. She thinned it out on the other side when she was all itchy but it just got thin, not completely void of fur. Her little itchie owies are almost gone off of her neck, and she only has a few left on her throat and hind quarters. Her cough (or whatever the heck ya wanna call it) hasn't remanifested itself, but that doesn't mean I'm not treating it as if the infection's back. Ha! Just the opposite, I'm out to kick it's arse before it even thinks about attacking my precious little Queenie!
The second package was a set of screen protectors I ordered for the new Dell pda. Gosh I so suck at putting them on. I had no idea it was so hard, and with cats around, keeping it hair-free long enough is difficult at best! I got one on though for now, but I'm still debating whether or not to see if one of my neighbors is any better at it than me. Part of my problem is that I just don't have a steady hand... I can't even cut a straight line! I have about as straight a hand as a cat has a straight tail! Come on, does a cat's tail EVER just lay straight? Nope! Heck, it's rarely still for more than a few moments if they're awake! Anyways, I got it on decently, but for a perfectionist like me, it's still got it's regrettable flaws I'd rather see out. But I just don't know if anyone else around here is any good at it. I'm not sure I'll be up and about later anyways. Jadzia is volunteering herself up for cuddles! I guess I am going to have to take advantage of this situation, aren't I?

We heard about that player yesterday. So sad. Sounds like a very odd situation.
