Ramblings

Hello friends from the winter-logged USA! You know just a couple brief days ago they were saying we weren't going to be getting much snow this weekend, but NOW they're saying at least 10 inches, likely more - all overnight Saturday going into Sunday! WTH? Let me guess, tomorrow you're going to say it's going to be an ice storm... WHY????? Why does winter have to come before it's "officially" winter? Why does it have to snow that much? This isn't somewhere WAY up north like Maine or Minnesota. Then again, to them, a foot is just a covering, while down this way it can bring life itself to a standstill. Burrr. It's way too cold for my tastes, but it IS December after all, right?
The cats are thoroughly surprised I'm home today. They know I'm usually at work, but since I'm home they've been keeping me pinned down. Curzon didn't want to let me get out of bed, and Jadzia was giving me the saddest face trying to keep me on the couch. But I have to get up now and then, whether they like it or not. Right now though, I'm just getting the one-eyed stares from Curzon from a few feet away, as if he's telling me I best get back in bed or ELSE. LOL... He can even threaten me with ignoring me but that doesn't work. I will just swoop him up and MAKE him cuddle! Right now it's about comfort and warmth before it's time to really get moving... If I so decide to! Haha!
I think it's safe to say my PDA is about as up to date as it's going to get. I have found that I missed a program, but as of right now I'm not in that much of a hurry to get it on here, as it's not that important. I have a couple internal files I have yet to modify, but that too isn't that big of a deal. Right now I'm just enjoying the itty bitty lil thang, and trying to come up with a nickname for it. My other one was Toshy (because it was a Toshiba), but I want something a little different this time. I've been thinking about calling it my brain, because I generally don't do as well without it (it's a lot easier to answer a question I don't remember the answer to in my noggin if I have the PDA on me). If someone asks me to figure out where a phone call came from, give me a couple minutes and I'll tell you what area. If you call me to ask me if a football team won or not, give me a couple minutes and I'll have you an answer. If you can't remember an important phone number, give me a minute and I'll have every number on file for that person ready for ya. Ask me without the PDA... "uhhmmm, I don't know I'll call you back in 5 minutes if I can find it" is about the best answer you'll get out of me. My PDA boots up way faster, is easier to run sometimes, and I sometimes don't even need the internet to get an answer! I have proggies for area codes and zip codes that doesn't need the internet. I have bookmarks for the pages I use the most when I get asked the weird trivia questions Mr. Cat tends to call me asking about. It's a lot easier to take a couple minutes on the PDA even if I'm in bed than dragging my rear out and booting up the PC if I'm not right in front of it. It is just taking some adapting to. The power button is in a different spot, buttons are different, the charger is completely different, some preset proggies are slightly different, but nothing is so foreign that I couldn't figure it out in half a second lol. I just now have a USB 10-key pad that is no use to me anymore, a sweet case that is now WAY too big, two spare batteries that don't fit and so are useless, etc... It's sad, really, but oh well. The Toshy had a good run, but I guess it was time for my brain to get an upgraded sidekick, something more dependable and not quite so delicate. Change isn't always bad!
Anywhoooooo...
I want to send my condolences to all the kitties that have found their way to the bridge lately, even though I didn't get the chance to meet you. Most of us Beans have furfriends at the bridge and we can only imagine the fun that they're having waiting for the rest of their family. I just pity the mice at the bridge because of a couple felines that went there over the last few years that were quite excellent fighters and hunters in their time. LOL seriously though, hugs and warm thoughts to the beans and kitties left behind from everyone here at the House of CoonCats!
And PS: Jazzy's looking great, and all 3 took that flea medicine right in. Buh-bye annoying pests! DIE! DIE! DIE! Any suckers that survived the last dose of flea medicine are surely dead now! I brought out the big guns!
And Mr. Sunbeam... get back here QUICKLY!
