Follow-up Post

Sorry everyone for such a quick note earlier. It's been bad here and it's only getting worse. Luckily I haven't heard the winds whipping up as much as they sometimes do around here. That's not to say they haven't been blowing hard. It's just that they're not hitting the windows like usual. Hopefully this means we'll still have power in the am but that's not for sure. I'm also a wee concerned about how I'll be getting to work in the morning, but I'll cross that bridge then. First of all, I need to see if they ever came to plow the driveway, because that'll make a difference if they ever make it. Also of concern is how much snow falls afterwards if they do come. I really don't want to have to miss time at work because of this weather and I can walk if necessary, but I really, REALLY don't want to. I will definitely be "stealing" Mr. Cat's parka if that happens. I just don't see that van getting out of this parking lot if the plow doesn't come through. If it does, I should be able to dig out the front fairly quickly and easily. I just hate this ******* weather. I am so tired of the snow.
So Sunday is Valentine's Day. I would just love to be able to give Mr. Cat something but dangit, he's pretty much got everything a guy could need already. We got three healthy cats, each other, and enough food to see us through a week or so if it came right down to it. So a power outage wouldn't do us in, it'd only make life suck LOL. I am looking forward to a time and a place where power outages, snowfall, and all things winter will be unheard-of LOL. Oh wait, that's never gonna happen. Sigh. What a thought though...
So, for those of you up here, how much snow do you have on the ground now? I think we're averaging out right around 50" - a little over two foot from Saturday and a wee less than two feet today. But it's not over yet, and there's a lot of sleet and freezing rain mixed into this snow from today so it's like moving bricks off of the vehicles. I cleared off Mr. Cat's van when I got home to try to get ahead of some of the work for tomorrow morning but not 5 minutes after I got in, it was already covered again. I bet you know there's a few inches on it. Dangnab it. Oh well.
I got my new case for the PDA in the mail... It probably came yesterday as I don't remember checking it yesterday. I'm still waiting on the battery though and hoping that thing won't be defective. I'm not so thrilled about how the thing is held in the case, but it's better than the rigging I'd done to the old one for the Toshy. And, this one's designed specifically for the bigger battery. But looking at the case, it becomes very apparent how much smaller this one is.
One final thought: Rumbles, if you find a working teleporter, please do tell me because I can think of no better place to be right now than somewhere that's NOT freezing cold with big, fluffy cats to hang out with. I think Curzon might get jealous tho. Maybe I'd have to take a Boo with. You think you can handle a strong 20lb grey mancat prince prowling around the house like it's his own? Oh wait, that's Curzon... Nimbus would just sleep the whole affair away LOL.
I will try to make my reading rounds tonight, but any comments will have to be left another time, hopefully tomorrow, as I'm not about to turn on the PC this late in the day (for me lol) for only a few minutes. It'd take longer for the SOB to boot up than to leave any comments! LOL poor thing needs a lot of maintenance done, and that requires time I just don't feel like taking. *sigh* I know, I'm lazy...
Laters!
